How can we assess learning and engagement during our Taster Week?

You can assess learning and engagement by using the following documents to track what pupils remember, how engaged they are, and how well the Experiences support your teaching:

1. During the Experience

  • Observe engagement – note moments when pupils are most animated, attentive, or enthusiastic.

  • Spot curriculum links – identify where the Experience connects directly to your current topics or objectives.

2. After the Experience

Learning & Engagement Assessment Pack

  • Measure learning – record what pupils remembered, understood, or could explain.

  • Record engagement – capture emotional and behavioural responses.

  • Reflect on teaching – assess how well the Experience supported your lesson aims and where it could be adapted.

Pupil Voice Document

  • Allows pupils to share:

    • What they learned.

    • What they enjoyed most.

    • Any moments that made them think differently.

  • Responses can be written, drawn, or recorded.

3. At the End of Your Taster Week

  • Review your evidence – compare results from different Experiences to see patterns in learning and engagement.

  • Share your findings – with SLT, Curriculum Leads, and with us. Your feedback helps improve our content and supports other educators in making informed decisions.

Tip: Keep both documents handy during the session to capture feedback while it’s fresh.
